This position has various responsibilities related to Financial Reporting, compliance with GAAP, and adherence to company policies and procedures.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: managing the month end closing and reporting process; reviewing, analyzing and preparing financial management reports; preparing account reconciliations, analyzing and tracking inventory; supervising employees.



  • Supervise employees who perform functions including financial statement preparation, general ledger, account reconciliations, fixed assets, sales tax, and commission reporting.  Supervisory duties include leveling the workload, documenting processes and procedures, delivering performance reviews, and functioning as the backup for key processes when employees are out of the office.
  • Oversee completion of all month end closing processes to meet internal reporting deadlines including posting journal entries, analyzing variances, and preparing and distributing reports.
  • Complete account reconciliations as assigned including inventory analysis. 
  • Work closely with the operational departments and IT to understand, improve, and document processes and procedures.
  • Responsible for tracing transaction documents through the ERP system in order to research questions on the financials.  Meet with internal departments to assist in process improvements when their work processes cause errors in the financials.  Identify the root cause of errors and partner with the departments to implement countermeasures.



  • Prepare miscellaneous financial information for management.
  • Assist with interim and year-end audit.
  • Identify ways to streamline processes and work as part of the team to implement solutions. 



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Accounting and 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience working with the accounting modules of an ERP system including general ledger and inventory. 
  • Above average analytical skills including variance analysis.
  • Above average oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Must exhibit detail orientation, thoroughness, and ability to maintain priorities.

While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly required to work in a high paced working environment with frequent customer interface.  Must be able to adapt to a busy office environment with rapidly changing priorities and a high volume of information flow while remaining professional at all times.  The Associate is occasionally exposed to a machine shop environment and hazards from equipment movement, and may be required to travel overnight.



While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly required to sit and talk and hear, interfacing with customers and suppliers by telephone using good articulation and voice control.  The Associate is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  The Associate is occasionally required to stand for moderate amounts of time.  The Associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds when periodically storing or moving storage boxes for record retention.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
